Over the many years I’ve spent counseling and working with people with diabetes I’ve met many VERY inspiring people…people who have, as the expression goes, Made Lemonade from Lemons. Working with Tandem Diabetes Care, I’m profiling people who’ve taken the diagnosis of diabetes and are applying optimism and positivity to give back to the diabetes community and beyond. They’re showing the world just how well people with diabetes can live. In this column I interviewed fifteen year old Canadian Kate Beaulieu. After her near death experience with a missed diagnosis of type 1 diabetes, she, along with her mother’s assistance, formed Sugardrop Sweetwear.
